SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR TRAINING

Interested in being trained as a spiritual director? You might sense you ​are drawn to relational, one-on-one connection with people. Maybe you have thought of yourself as a good listener who really enjoys hearing the story of someone’s life and the movement of God in it. If so, spiritual direction training might be a great next step in your own personal transformative journey with God.​

I partner with Sustainable Faith’s School of Spiritual Direction to offer a 2-year training program for spiritual directors. Here is a short description with some links to both year 1 and 2 of the 2 year program.

SCHOOL OF SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

YEAR 1

Year 1 offers participants an immersive, integrated and robust introduction to the ministry of spiritual direction. Through the combined experience of reading superb literature, engaging in individual and group exercises, paying close attention to one’s life, practicing spiritual disciplines, receiving spiritual direction and offering direction, students move toward competency as spiritual directors.

SCHOOL OF SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Year 2

Year 2 is for those who envision spiritual direction as central to their work. It gives participants the opportunity to go through an abbreviated version of the Ignatian Exercises together, gain significant supervised experience in offering direction, delve more fully into the theological underpinnings of spiritual direction and address special topics.
